I Found a Film Lab in China

After 9 months of living in Hangzhou, China, I have finally found a place to have my film processed and scanned! I’m a bit heartbroken I didn’t find it sooner because we move back to the States next month…it’s like a film shooter’s paradise. The cost of having film developed and scanned is about 75% cheaper compared to what I pay in the US. Granted, I was a bit disappointed with the scan quality (Indie Film Lab does a much better job 🙂), but the huge price difference makes the need for slight computer edits completely acceptable for me.

I have had zero time to blog since we moved here, but have taken a ton of photos.  I’m hoping I’ll have a chance to post some over  the summer.  In the meantime, here are a couple from Hangzhou and a couple from our trip to the Maldives during our winter holiday.

Sure! It’s called Painting Hero (画英雄). Address is 马塍路18号. I’ve heard they’ve opened a second location now as well but I’m not sure where that one is.ReplyCancel

        Hi all!

I just bought myself a film camera (Rollei 35S), and am also staying in Hangzhou for a few months.

I’m wondering if you have any recommendations for film photography lessons I can take in Hangzhou? I know the basics of film photography, but am still fairly new to it.

(By the way, great photos! Love the website).ReplyCancel

Sorry I’m seeing this late…I do teach classes myself, but since we are back in TN I don’t guess that’s much help. I’m not sure of any places specifically in Hangzhou without signing up for a college course. Sorry!ReplyCancel
